14 Days Cambodia Adventure Tour with Beach Relaxing

Welcome to Cambodia.

Upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, meet your private guide and driver outside the arrivals area. Transfer to your centrally located hotel and receive a short introduction to the journey ahead.

The remainder of the day is free to rest after your flight or enjoy an independent walk along the riverside.

Begin at the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, where your guide introduces Cambodia’s monarchy, Buddhist traditions and royal architecture.

Continue to the National Museum to see an important collection of Khmer sculpture and artifacts from the pre-Angkorian and Angkorian periods.

After lunch, explore Wat Phnom and take a guided walk through the city’s colonial quarter and riverside neighbourhoods. Finish at a local market for an introduction to Cambodian ingredients, snacks and daily life.

Visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Choeung Ek Memorial with your guide. These visits offer important historical context and are approached respectfully.

Return to the city for lunch and time to rest.

In the late afternoon, board a boat for a relaxed sunset cruise where the Mekong, Tonle Sap and Bassac rivers meet. Observe riverside communities and Phnom Penh’s changing skyline.

Leave Phnom Penh after breakfast and travel east toward Mondulkiri Province. The landscape gradually changes from lowland countryside to rolling hills, plantations and forest.

Stop for lunch along the way before continuing to Sen Monorom, the provincial capital.

Check into your resort and enjoy the cooler climate. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax or take a short walk around the property.

Spend the day at an ethical elephant sanctuary in the forest outside Sen Monorom.

Walk with local guides through the forest while observing rescued elephants in a natural environment. Learn about elephant behaviour, conservation challenges and the relationship between the Bunong community and the surrounding forest.

A simple local lunch is included. Depending on the sanctuary program and conditions, the day may also include river time, forest walking and visits to community-managed areas.

Travel through the countryside to Bou Sra Waterfall, one of Cambodia’s most impressive natural attractions. Walk to selected viewpoints and enjoy time beside the falls.

Continue through coffee, pepper and cashew-growing areas and visit a Bunong community with a local guide. Learn about traditional houses, farming, forest knowledge and changing village life.

Return to Sen Monorom in the late afternoon.

After breakfast, travel from Mondulkiri toward Kratie through remote countryside and small towns.

Arrive in Kratie and cross the Mekong River by local ferry to Koh Trong Island. Transfer to your resort, surrounded by gardens and traditional Khmer-style villas.

Later, explore the island by bicycle or local cart, passing wooden houses, orchards, rice fields and small temples.

Return to the mainland and travel north along the Mekong River to Kampi.

Board a local boat to search for the rare Irrawaddy dolphins that live in this stretch of the river. Your guide explains the conservation work protecting the small remaining population.

Continue to a riverside pagoda and visit a local village before returning to Kratie. Spend the late afternoon relaxing on Koh Trong Island.

Leave Kratie after breakfast for the overland journey to Siem Reap.

Travel through Kampong Cham and Kampong Thom provinces, stopping for lunch and short breaks along the way. Depending on timing, visit a local market or roadside village.

Arrive in Siem Reap in the late afternoon and check into your hotel. The evening is free to explore the riverside, night market or local restaurants.

Begin at Angkor Thom, the last great capital of the Khmer Empire. Enter through the South Gate and visit Bayon Temple, the Baphuon, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Continue to Ta Prohm, where enormous tree roots grow across the temple ruins.

After lunch, explore Angkor Wat. Your guide explains its religious symbolism, bas-reliefs, architecture and historical importance.

Travel to Phnom Kulen National Park, a sacred mountain associated with the founding of the Angkorian Empire.

Visit the River of a Thousand Lingas, a hilltop pagoda and the reclining Buddha. Continue to the waterfall, where there is time to relax and swim when conditions are suitable.

On the return journey, visit Banteay Srei, renowned for its detailed pink sandstone carvings.

After breakfast, transfer to Siem Reap Angkor International Airport for the flight to Sihanoukville, subject to the operating schedule.

Upon arrival, transfer to the pier and board a shared speedboat to Koh Rong Island.

Check into your beachfront resort and spend the remainder of the day relaxing beside the sea.

Enjoy a full day at leisure on Koh Rong.

Relax on the white-sand beach, swim in the warm sea or enjoy the resort facilities.

Optional activities may include snorkelling, kayaking, a boat excursion, fishing or an island walk.

The day is intentionally free, providing time to rest after the active touring program.

Enjoy breakfast and your final morning beside the beach.

At the scheduled time, board the shared speedboat back to Sihanoukville. Transfer to Sihanoukville International Airport or a local hotel for your onward journey.

An additional transfer to Phnom Penh can be arranged when required by your international flight.
